In the clinic we treat with passion each speciality of dental medicine
The first visit is free in our Clinic. It is a very important step and we dedicate particular attention. It involves the scrupolous gathering of information regarding the general and dental health of the patients. We try to help people to understand the problems of their mouth, we listen to their expectations and we explain the possible solutions. Concepts are always explained with the aid of radiographs, photographs, movies, or using templates.
Dental implants are titanium devices, generally in the form of screws, that are surgically placed in the bone substituting the root of the missing tooth. On top of these artificial roots it is possible to fabricate a single crown, if a single tooth is to be replaced, or a bridge, if more than one tooth is missing. Dental implants can also be used to stabilize removable complete dentures. In our Clinic only high quality JDentalCare implants are used. In particular JDEvolution implant is our implant of choice, characterized by an innovative design and very predictable performance.
Conservative dentistry is a branch of dentistry that treats cavities by substitution of the affected area with restorative material. Composite resin mimics the natural color of teeth and has almost completely substituted silver amalgam fillings.
When decay is extensive or if the tooth has suffered another type of trauma, the nervous and vascular tissues housed within the tooth may undergo irreversible degeneration requiring their complete removal. The remaining space that housed these tissues can then be thoroughly disinfected and filled with proper materials.
Before thinking about how to remove and replace teeth, we always try to save them. That’s why we pay particular attention to the treatment of marginal gum disease (gingivitis) and advanced (periodontitis or pyorrhea) performing a diagnostic and treatment protocol that follows the latest guidelines of the Swedish and American periodontal schools. The complete plaque removal, resulting in a drastic reduction of oral bacteria, and the education of the patient on proper oral hygiene techniques are the effective treatment for periodontal disease.
Fixed prosthodontics is the branch of dentistry that replaces missing teeth or the reconstruction of compromised teeth. It is called ‘fixed’ because it cannot be removed by the patient.
– Veneers: Are thin laminates of ceramic that are cemented on anterior teeth to change their shape and color.
– Crown. When the crown (visible part) of a tooth is compromised to the point that it needs to be replaced a crown is indicated. Crowns are made with different materials in order to achieve high esthetic results.
– Fixed partial dentures (prosthetic bridge): one or more missing teeth can be substitute with artificial teeth connected to prosthetic crowns on adjacent teeth.
Removable prosthodontics is the branch of dentistry that replaces missing teeth. It is called ‘removable’ because the patient is able to remove the appliance.
Complete denture: Substitutes all teeth in one arch.
Removable partial denture: Substitutes some teeth in one arch and uses the remaining teeth as a support.
Oral Surgery is the specialist area of Dental Medicine dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of alterations, lesions and pathologies of the oral cavity, the extraction of teeth compromised by decay or severe periodontal disease and the wisdom tooth. In particular, the extraction of the wisdom tooth finds its indication when it fails to erupt in the right position for lack of space. The consequence is that this tooth can be fully included in the bone or remain partially erupted, causing often pain and swelling or it can damage the adjacent teeth.
When teeth of one or both dental arches are not in the proper position from an esthetic and functional point view, Orthodontics through fixed or removable appliance can move in the desired positions to recreate an optimal situation.
Conscious sedation is a combination of medicines to help you relax and to block pain during dental procedures. Our Clinic collaborates with anesthesiologists specialised in conscious sedation in dentistry. The anesthesiologist will monitor you during your procedure to make sure you are okay. This person will stay with you at all times during the procedure. After conscious sedation you will not remember much about the procedure.
In our Clinic we have an intra-oral digital X-ray system and a Cone Beam 3D CBCT Imaging. Thanks to these machines the X-ray exposure is 90% lower than the conventional radiology that is still used in most dental offices. The Cone Beam 3D performs CT scans and three-dimensional reconstructions of the maxilla/mandible for diagnostic and pre-implantology evaluation. The patient can make the exam immediately, directly in our Clinic, without the need to be referred to external offices and to face long waiting lists.
